Edward Herrmann č nato il 21 luglio del 1943 a Washington D.C.E' un grandissimo attore che ci delizia con le sue performance da ormai 30 anni.Nella sua carriera ha recitato a Broadway,ha vinto un Tony Adward per la sua serie tv "The Practice",ha ricevuto tre nominations agli Emmy Adwards per laserie tv "St.Elsewhere"e per i film tv:"Coancealed Enemies" e "Eleanor and Franklin:the white house years".Ha partecipato al 200esimo episodio,come gueststar,nel telefilm Law&Order.Nel 2000 ottiene la parte di Richard Gilmore,il padre di Lorelai,nella serie tv "Gilmore girls"
Ora Edward Herrmann vive a Los Angeles.
